A brief Bio
Jack has been a professional actor since 1950. By 1976 he had 35 features and over 150 TV shows, and scores of plays in his credits. In New York from 1955-1960 Jack focused on theatre. In 1966 he founded the Oxford Theatre/workshop (Los Angeles). Some of his students included Barry Levinson, Craig T. Nelson, Don Johnson, Barbara Parkins. From 1976-1991 he took a hiatus to attend university and earn a degree is psychotherapy. He returned to the "biz" in 1991, since then adding another 25 features and some 35 TV shows to the list. Jack has written a score of plays and screenplays, many essays and two self-help booklets. In February of 2004 Jack wrote, directed and produced "Screech" a short film starring Jody Jaress, shot and edited by Steve Robison.
Jack's character as Romulan Sub Commander Tal, from "The Enterprise Incident" in the original Star Trek series, is well known to ST fans. He counts his more current work in "Stigmata," "The Privateers," "Demon Under Glass," "Retro Puppet Master," "Scare Tactics," "Buffy," "7th Heaven," "The Third Wish," "Enterprise," a Revlon short film opposite Julianne Moore, among others, as some of his favorite roles. He's been cast to reprise the Bela Lagosi role of "Legendre" in a remake of "White Zombie," to shoot some time in Rome later in the year.
Jack's most current work, as of October, 2004, includes a return to Star Trek, Enterprise, in a recurring role of Vulcan Priest; an episode of "According to Jim" as a grizzly character emerging from the woods to scare Jim and his friends; and another grizzly character in the horror feature "Dark Ride." cast as a recurring character.
More credits: In March, 2005, Jack did a guest star role on "Reno 911," and an important role as "Judge Rodney S. Melville" on E! Channel's reenactment series of the Michael Jackson Trial. This program will follow the daily events in this trial. The transcripts are sent to E! Channel, daily, where the cast and crew recreate the events as they actually occur, the program is aired in the U.S., England and now in Europe and elsewhere around the globe.
Jack is also currently pitching three of his original feature film scripts and a sci-fi pilot for TV.
