I am a woman of the world,
I stake my claim, my flag unfurled.
I take my place, it's no disgrace
for a woman of the world.

2nd verse

I lived ten thousand troubled years,
Allowed to cry and shed my tears,
to feel the pain, and yet remain
unseen woman of the world.

Bridge

Those days are past, the shadows could not last.
We marched and raised our voice,
beat back, we bled
for ourselves our tears were shed.
Today the role I play
Equality in place and choice

3rd verse

I am a woman of the world,
I love no less, I must confess
it sets you free, to stand with me.
a man, and woman of the world.
