Curing Terrorism

A reply to a political organization’s request for input. The following is regards to terrorism:

As a psychotherapist/social analyst for more than thirty years, my frustration with "officialdom" grows daily. It is fine to throw more money and resources into fighting terrorism, but until we address its root causes and correct centuries of western exploitation and collusion (with the elite and despotic rulers of 3rd world nations) the terror won't stop.

What the oil companies still do in places like Equatorial Guinea and Columbia is a prime example of such exploitation.. Generations of resentment, poverty, hate and hopelessness breed terrorism. Were not the patriots of the Boston Tea Party, and the Bunker Hill militia not terrorists? Of course.

What must be done? We mounted a grand "Marshall Plan" to restore Europe. America must harness and lead the rich nations of the world to 1) stop corporate and government collusion with corrupt leaders, 2) Mandate that third world governments initiate policies to bring grass roots people into owning and sharing, fairly, the riches of their own resources, 3) initiate uplift of the poor to jobs, fair wages, opportunity and access. Educate corporations that when this is done they can but imagine the millions and millions of more viable customers in the world. ENLIGHTENED SELF INTEREST!

This will take time, of course, but from the moment this is put into action the poor peoples of the world will restore their hope, their faith and they themselves will contribute powerfully to the end of terrorism. If we don't heal the old abuses, terrorism, its cost in lives, resources and our own sense of hope and safety will steadily worsen, just as the completely ignored problems of drugs and crime in our beloved US continue to erode our spirit, despite our burying our heads in the sand.

PLEASE PAY ATTENTION. Give the American people this kind of leadership and you will enjoy overwhelming support.. Caution: don’t mouth and deceive the public with campaign words and promises, without real follow through and action. Thanks, Jack Donner,
